A REVITALIZATION OF THE CLASSICS VINTAGE LINES REISSUED BY STELLAR WORKS
It was a passion for bridging past and present which led to the inception of Stellar Works in 2012. With an unwavering commitment to preserving the heritage of exquisite craftsmanship and refined culture, Stellar Works is dedicated to revitalizing the iconic pieces designed by mid-century maestros through a contemporary design language, ensuring that their timeless work still resonates with the sensibilities of the modern day.
Risom Collection designed by Jens Risom
Jens Risom was a pioneer in introducing Scandinavian design to the United States. Notably, his iconic C140 chair was used in the White House under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration. In 2022, Stellar Works reissued a special ‘California Edition’ of Risom collection, which encompasses six chairs created by Risom during his mid-century heyday. The collection is fittingly upholstered in chromatic textiles, reminiscent of the vibrant spirit of sunny California.
Wohlert Collection designed by Vilhelm Wohlert
Renowned for his pared down mid-century designs, Vilhelm Wohlert left an undeniable mark on the evolution of furniture for public spaces. Stellar Works has selected and reproduced some of Wohlert’s most celebrated archival pieces from the 1950s, including the Louisiana Chair made by Wohlert for the opening of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark. Every piece in the collection has a seamless combination of form and function, which creates both a timeless aesthetic and an enduring design statement.
Carlo Collection designed by Carlo Forcolini
Born in Como, Italy in 1947, Carlo Forcolini’s work encompasses a unique blend of artistic expression and design eccentricity that seek to break the boundaries of traditional forms. Part of Stellar Works’ Carlo collection is the Cotton Club Lounge Chair from the 1980s, which embodies Forcolini’s unconventional, avant-garde and unstintingly imaginative approach to design.
