Kagoshima’s First Globally Branded Hotel From Local Traditions To Design
Brooklyn-based design firm CRÈME has completed the design of Sheraton Kagoshima, marking the debut of the area’s first internationally branded hotel. The design draws inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of the region, seamlessly incorporating elements of local traditions and history. Artwork at different scales, rich materials with natural tones and textures create an extension of the city with engaging community spaces that allow visitors to relax, meet, or work.
Situated in the scenic coastal city of Kyushu, Sheraton Kagoshima boasts an array of captivating features, including a vibrant lobby, multiple dining venues, a spa and hot spring, club lounge, café, and versatile event spaces. Each of these public spaces has been expertly designed by CRÈME to flawlessly encapsulate the harmonious blending of traditional Japanese heritage with contemporary Western design.
Signature furniture pieces from Stellar Works have been thoughtfully integrated throughout the interior. Utility Bar Chairs and Exchange Dining Chairs are perfectly showcased in the restaurant Flying Hog Grill, adorned with black accents and mountain-inspired motifs, the space is a tribute to Kagoshima's connection with volcanic ash. In the greenhouse inspired bar, Taylor One-Seater Sofas provide luxurious, plush seating with an elegant silhouette, effortlessly transitioning guests from day to night.
The addition of Discipline Sofa and Rén Lounge Chairs imbues the lounge space with a warm, modern character, creating an intimate atmosphere that harmonizes with the natural landscape of Kagoshima. While the SW Sofa Three-Seater provides inviting comfort with its spacious, deep seat, exuding a more refined ambiance.
