Bvlgari Hotel & Residences Shanghai is the perfect encapsulation of Bvlgari and Stellar Works's cosmopolitan approach to design, lifestyle and culture. This results in a mixture of contrasts, where opposite components meet and create invaluable synergies between East and West, old and new and classic and modern.

Wong Kar-Waii’s romantic film “In the mood for love” was a key point of reference for the design of the spaces, a collaboration between SlowStudio and Dramaa. The result is a series of unique Shanghai residences with a contrasting colour palette of Chinese rouge and ink black.

The elegant Stellar Works Blink bar stools, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, are featured in this cosy dining area, which is suitable for informal meetings or social gatherings. Compact in profile and scale, this light, playful and sculptural collection lends itself to both residential and commercial applications. The stool’s materials have been selected to create considered contrast from texture to texture and surface to surface.

Though Blink has a distinct personality and distilled modernist quality, the urban materiality of the residential space is interrupted by utilising the traditional Chinese aesthetic of geometric patterns. The sculptural shape of the Blink bar stoolis also well balanced with the softness of the upholstery in a vibrant red leather, to create a welcoming retreat from busy city life.
